FAQ

How do I know what service or treatment I need?

Don't worry, that's my job. If you are unsure on what treatment or service you need, we will do an assessment on your initial appointment to ensure the right treatment plan is put in place. Usually, a combination of treatment modalities are used, but this will be discussed.

How do you differ to a Physiotherapist?

A question I get asked all the time and there are a lot of similarities, but there is one main difference.

Physiotherapists are great with diagnosing problems and providing appropriate stretches and exercises, but they don't tend to do much manual therapy work, because generally it's not what they specialise in.

Restriction and dysfunction come's in many forms and as much as exercise and stretching is an integral part of any regime, the body often needs more, this is where my speciality in manual treatment comes in.

If you book in for a treatment you will receive a hands-on approach, where the majority of the session will consist of manual therapies, such as; Deep tissue and sports massage, Acupuncture, Dry cupping, Percussive therapy,  Stretch therapy and Scraping (IASTM).

The treatment will always focus on resolving the issue in the most effect way. Other services outside of manual therapy are utilised and discussed when appropriate.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Activewear or something similar is perfectly fine. If there are any issues in the lower back or down into the lower body, shorts are suggested. In some circumstances, some clothing may need to be removed, but in the case of this happening, there are towels provided and i can leave the room.

Most importantly, something you feel comfortable in.

Do you offer home visits?

At this moment in time, I don't offer home visits.

Do you offer programs and training?

Yes, this is especially important for clients post treatment block that have come in with postural and muscle imbalances or muscle weakness and dysfunction.

Training and exercise are key for keeping the body working optimally and not slipping back into old habits. So, when the body has been reset and released, corrective exercise is really important, it restrengthens the body to stop issues from re-occurring.
